Finding Peace in a violent world

Finding peace in a violent world is not so much about running and hiding, but more about peace making. So many times in my life, I have been in situations where the choice was difficult, and scary, but fighting fire with fire just burns things. Coming at others with love, when they are filled with hate, distrust and fear, makes you vulnerable, but at the same time, it's in the eyes; someone, somehow, can see it - and, even though you risk all, you offer them in earnest a way they can get through such a horrible and frightening situation by leading the way to peace. It is something you must choose to carry with you, and I believe everyone, even if it is the size of a mustard seed ;^) is aware of that piece of peace within they wish to embrace and long to live with again. How do you function as a peacemaker in such war torn times? Have you given up and raised the white flag, either to peace or war. The battle is won, one person, one situation, at a time. God bless us all and show us the way to be a blessing to each other, because we are all we've got.
